Deja-Vu: Route 290

Haven't we seen this before? Most single deck route contracts tend to get E20D's (Formerly E200's). It's just what we're all expecting each time. *Sighs*. Anyway, this week saw Route 290 gain brand new 10.25m E20D's from Abellio London's Fulwell Garage situated in the West of London. A lot of speculations have rose on whether this batch of E20D's were 10.25m as the original order for Route 290's E20D's were 10.8m. I can confirm that these are 10.25m due to the 3rd window on the left hand side not having a window opening. As well as the seating interior towards the front of the right hand side (between the exit door and high seats facing side ways) only having 2 rows whereas the 10.8m have 3 rows.

-Weigh a whopping U.W 7771 KGS for a bus of its length
- Lazzerini seats with Abellio's generic moquette

Generic moquette on the new E20D's
Once again this weekend we see more E20D's hitting the road for a bunch of new contracts in East London. Isn't this just too common. Well at least we will get to see more Streetlite's enter service in London's operations over the next 2 months. They will be 8.8m Streetlites for Go-Ahead London Blue Triangle after the successful gain of route 462. So lets hope they will be a hit! Below are more shots of the 290 and some others of which I got during yesturday.

  1. It's usually fairly easy to tell if they're 10.2m or 10.8m just by being on the bus - though from what I can see in your photo of the interior they're definitely not 10.8m. Wonder why that is...

  2. Like the caption colour. Also, what do you mean by generic moquette? And do you have any idea when the Streetlites are gonna arrive?

    1. The streetlites for the 462 are in delivery now. Genereic moquette means the company's moquette
