OMSI: The Bus Simulator- Post 1 :Bowdenham Map
Today is the day that we bring the virtual world of buses to you with a game called OMSI: The Bus Simulator. OMSI: The Bus Simulator was created by two German bus enthusiasts who had a dream of making one of the global's most realistic simulators. It took them just over 2 and a half years to create the simulator and on the 18th April 2011, the simulator was successfully released to the worlds hands. Ever since it has mainly received positive reviews from players of the simulator. And we would like to show ever viewer of the All Over London Bus Blog why, by opening this section!
For the first section we would like to focus on the "Bowdenham" map. The Bowdenham map is a map to be downloaded off of internet. We decided to start off with this map as it is a high detailed fictional map based on the roads of England. Within this map you are able to drive around 15 routes which ranges from destinations between Apsley to Wotton High Road.
Today I will be showing you examples of driving in Bowdenham with the:
-MAN D92/Ecomat IV D20 ...11.4m with a ZF 6 Speed Transmission.
I started the game off at one of two depots the Bowdenham Map has to offer. I started at the Bramley Depot with my D92 in the new First livery. Shortly afterwards I drove to Wotton High Road in order to start my duties upon Route 523: Wotton High Road to Apsley Bus Station via Winterbourne. The route has a PVR of route 7 buses (Includes yourself- an extra duty.)
Once I had arrived at Wotton High Road. I decided to setup my timetable and IBIS2. IBIS is the German version of iBus which we use in most London buses the only difference is that this IBIS comes with less option i.e. Announcements such as "Please move down inside the bus". But the funny thing is that the IBIS2 controls more features on the bus. For example the destination. To set up my IBIS I did the following.
-I clicked the button what says "Line/Kursa" and dialed in 52300. This is the route "523" and will show on the matrix flip board.
-I then clicked "Route" and chose "2" it changes depending on which direction you are heading in. This will too show up on the matrix flip board as well as setting up the IBIS2 Display screen which looks like our iBus Display. The IBIS is showing Route 523 to Apsley Bus Station
After terminating at Aspley, I drove light all the way to Wotton to start a service on Route X52. Here are some shots of the bus on the route!
Well I hope that you have enjoyed this post and we will have many more to come. Which map could be next you never know.
