91st Post for DW91: Route 19 (Finsbury Park Station- Battersea Bridge, South Side)

Route 19, what do most of us think when it comes to route 19? Some say it is better off being ran from the northern end of the route. Others say it is one of those "hard to run" routes. Well I agree with those who say it is a "hard to run" routes as the route is currently being ran from Brixton Garage situated on Streatham Hill which seems quite far away from Finsbury Park. Anywho as well as 249, Route 19 is also expected to transfer to London General on the 31st March, but this time, from their Stockwell Garage situated in Lambeth. Below is a pic of the current buses the 19 uses.

DW91/LJ04LFG seen at Battersea Bridge on Route 19
Route 19 currently uses 10.4m DAF DB250LF (Voith, Euro 3)/ Pulsar Gemini's. Surprising these are NOT the 19's originally buses. The 19 originally had 05reg VLA's (VLA104-128) from Battersea (BA) Garage following its conversion from a Routemaster operation. The VLA's proved to be too long for Battersea Garage to fit all of them in, so, they and the route all transferred to Norwood Garage. The 19 was then shortly transferred to Brixton garage and the VLA's were left behind at Norwood Garage. Brixton Garage had fished some 05reg DW's from Wandsworth Garage off of Route 337 and Route 337 had gained some 04reg VLA's from which garage I am unsure of. (Confusing story huh?). Anywho Route 19 is bound to gain 28 brand New Gemini 2's. 15 of will contain a 10.5m Volvo B5LH Hybrid Chassis and 13 of them will contain a 10.5m Vovlo B9TL Diesel Chassis (Some will be on a Voith Gearbox). Lets hope the operation will be a success with Stockwell Garage.
