Go-one-step-Ahead and you end up with.......

Another route. But more importantly..... FINALLY we have an official batch of variety in London! Streetlites have finally hit London (does not include the Demonstrator with First Centrewest). Yesturday (24th March 2012), Route 462 transferred from Arriva London North's Barking (DX) Garage to Go-Ahead London Blue Triangle's Ferry Lane (BE) Garage in Rainham. This transfer saw the route gain a batch of 8 8.8m Wright Streetlites, although not all 8 have entered service as some are still on delivery. Out of the 8, 4 entered service and Go-Ahead hired the 462's previous buses from DX to run on the route along with the new Streetlites until they all arrive.

For the past 5 years, Alexander Dennis' Enviro E20D's have dominated the Single Deck London bus industry, and like me, you are too guessing where is the variety. here it is, and I have to say it looks fantastic with Go-Ahead's livery.

I for one can't complain about the takeover of the 462. Next week sees more Ahead gains. The entire NP operation and also the 19, 249 & 493 from South London. It seems London is turning into Go Ahead county!

  1. You can see why everyone else orders the E20D though. These just look weird really.
    Nice post though!

  2. The E200s have a much more sleek design and the new ones look nicer as the have the embeded ibus screen.
