Route 607 - Upgrade 1.5 !!

As you may know route 607 running between Uxbridge and White City was retained by First Centrewest with 20 existing double deckers. This requires a mix of B7TL 10m/Eclipse Gemini (First Daganham Ex-150 buses) and Trident 9.9m/Enviro400 which have been released from the 23 as all its Volvo B9TL/Gemini 2 buses have now arrived and are in Service.

The buses intended for the 607 have now started to enter service. However, only the DN's I have seen as of yet but I have managed to get a sneak peak at the VNW's.

Express services have not generally been too favoured in London but this is one that has survived for a while and is part of the Uxbridge Road service, now branded as the 607 Express, providing a speedier alternative to the main 207 and 427 service.
This corridor, from Shepherd's Bush through Acton, Ealing, Hanwell, Southall and Hayes End to Uxbridge, has been the focus of much experimental work on bus priority measures over the years. Features such as "bus gates" which hold up other traffic at bottlenecks to allow buses a free run, and traffic light transponders to detect the approach of a bus and hold or change the signals as quickly as possible, were extensively tried, tested and developed here, as well as some of the first bus lane police cameras to trap offenders

These are not on the route yet but should be by the end of the month

So try to catch your TNLs as quick as possible, these VNWs should enter service shortly.

  1. DNs look good. Not so sure about the VNWs.
TNLs did great work, so look forward to these doing the same work!
