A very nice visit to EC Garage
Last Saturday (7/7/12) since not much bus-wise was going on we decided to visit Arriva's EC Garage, we had let them know we would be visiting them prior to turning up (George popped in there week before to see what was there and had a chat with the people there)
If you don't know much about EC garage here is a very brief bit of information about it, In 2005 the garage was adapted for bendy-buses on route 149, in addition to Routes 397 and W14 transferring in from Arriva's former Debden base. In addition, the garage also took over route 29 with more Citaros in January 2006.
On 24 March 2012, Edmonton (EC) was closed.
You might be wondering why we are visiting a closed garage, its not actually closed permanently. It's only closed operationally. Therefore they store buses here for various reasons such as Olympic work - before they are sold or moved to Arriva provinces.
I managed to get some great shots due to the dramatic weather and here they are, there were mainly refurbished DW's from the former Route 19 batch and the older VLW's with a small mix of DLA's not forgetting the repainted Bendy's from the 29 and The New Citaros for Arriva Midlands.
Now on to the Citaros
Hope you have enjoyed this post, the day was great as it stopped raining just as we arrived but started again as soon as we left, we really had fun visiting the garage as we did see some buses that we did not expect to see parked up there including the famous DLA1 Also a bit thanks goes out to the staff that gave us permission to get these pictures.
There are far to many shots to post on here but if you check my flickr ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/snakeydave/ ) you will find a lot more that we hope you will enjoy.

| Note they still carry Arriva London Legals, this is because the buses will be used on Olympic work this is also the reason they don't have vinyls applied yet. |
