OMSI The Bus Simulator: Post 5 - Berlin- Spandau 1989 (Roadworks Version)

Welcome back to our OMSI section of the All Over London Bus Blog. Today, we are not covering OMSI bus services in England but we will be covering some in Germany. This map we are driving is the Berlin - Spandau 1989 map with Roadworks. Although this is a modified map. The original map is one of the two which come preset with the game. There are many modified versions of this map and up to date version which can be downloaded on most OMSI sites. I would like to take this time to say this is probably the post with the most amount of photos on this blog (61) and a 24 minute video will conclude part of the route at the end of the post. If you would like to watch the video by itself then please scroll to the bottom.

Lets take at the map and what it has to offer

The Berlin-Spandau 1989 map is set in 1989 and focus on one route. Route 92 (known as routes 137 and M37 today). Although there are three driveable routes (92,92E and 13N) all run services upon the length of route 92. Anywho, we are going to start services at Freudstr which is at the northern end of the route. Freudstr is a terminus with a tight "roundabout" turn. Once you have left you are subject to a tight turn around a bend which lead onto the main road Falkenseer Chaussee where we will take a left onto it.

Now that we are on Falkenseer Chaussee, we continue straight down to the end of the Falkenseer Chausse which leads onto Falkenseer Damm where we get to a roundabout and turn to serve U Altstadt Spandau.

Now we have turned into U Altstadt Spandau we are serving the station and then will take a U turn to go back out onto the roundabout and go down Alstadter Ring.

You can see where I have U-Turned and now am approaching the roundabout
Now that we are on Altstadter Ring we will be serving two stops on this road before it leads into Klosterstrasse. The two stop are Morizitstr and U Bahnhof Rathaus Spandau which is a main place and massive train station and bus terminus in Spandau. Some journeys of route 92 terminate here from either direction. Its a bit like our Clapham Junction.

Now at Rathaus Spandau

Now that we have left Rathaus Spandau we are now travelling southwards towards to suburbs of Berlin. We are currently on Klosterstr where we will turn off at Seeburger Strasse and head down there towards Blasewitzer Ring.

The bus has been diverted due to road works it is a short diversion and no bus stops will be missed

Turning down Pawesinger Weg

Approach Blasewitzer Ring waiting for a fellow 92 using a MAN SD200/SD77 to pass by.

Passing some roadworks at Seeburger Str
Now at Blasewitzer Ring we will be going around the "ring" onto Obstallee and will take a left Sandstr and a right onto Heerstr which is in Berlin's district of Staaken.

Awaiting at the traffic light to turn right
Our route 92 has taken a right onto Heerstr. Heerstr is having major road works along the route and we are subject to many tight turns and road changes.
Massive construction site beginning

Towards the end
Finally out of the mass construction site we can now continue to our terminus of Stadtgrenze. Which is about a 3 minute journey away. We will take a slight right just after the Reimerweg bus terminus

At last. Finally at the bus depot where we will end out picture journey.

Below is a 24 minute video of the route between Stadtgrenze and Altstadt Spandau. The destination was changed twice. Once near the beginning and once near the end. Please enjoy and I know this is not based in London, but I hope that the London repaints I have created will give you that London-y feeling. Thanks for reading the post.
