First London's VN's - The New and the Switched!
First London have ordered nine new Volvo H39/23D B9TL Wright Gemini double deckers (UW 11920kgs) which have been delivered to top up the resources for route 295 alongside the 61reg buses which are based at Westbourne Park Garage [X] .
In case your unaware, a handful of these 61 buses moved for use on 266 as route 23 has been allocated new DN's/DNH's (post to follow) whilst the rest have of the VN's have been used on the recently retained 295.
As well as this, they have swapped multiple buses (61reg VN's whch were originally used on 23) from Atlas Road (AS) to Willesden Junction (WJ) for use on route 18 and (60reg VN's which were originally used on 18) from Willesden Junction (WJ) to Atlas Road (AS) for use on route 266 which was won from Metroline earlier this year.
The swap is due to a fuel consumption comparison between the newer and older buses and is expected to last for 6 months!
The buses swapped have also swapped Destination Blinds (seeming that 60reg buses didn't have 2012 blinds including the recently gained 266)!
Now these new buses for 295 have now entered service, as well as straying onto the 23

Good to see a return to bonded glazing. :-)
ReplyDeletei like these 62 reg gemmi's but the 61 reg ones on the 266 are the worst ever
ReplyDeleteI agree. The Enviro 400 and 400H should have been for 266 and Volvo B9TL stay on 23.
Deletehow
ReplyDeletethier realy terrable and rubbish the ones on the 83/25/18 are the good ones
DeleteI like Volvo B9TL and all, but I don't like the newer versions on 266, 295 and so on. I prefer the old version on 297 and 18. I don't like any Volvo B9TL in the First Centrewest interior.
ReplyDeletethe 266 was better with metroline first you are rubbish
