Metroline's DLD's return to service!

London Returns to Normality

Over the past 3 months, London has faced one of it's biggest challenges over the Summer: The Olympics.

Throughout the whole of September, London Bus Companies have been returning to normal service after their vehicles have been used on either Olympic shuttles or helping passenger increases on certain routes.

This series of posts will be on the buses used as Olympic Shuttles, as well as new arrivals for bus companies

Part 4: Metroline's DLDs return to service!

In January 2006 following the withdrawal of old Dart's at Metroline's Kings Cross garage (KX), 18 10.1m Alexander Dennis Pointer Dart SLF's (surprisingly with a Voith gearbox) (DLD's) were delivered for use at the garage; these turned out to be Metroline's last ever Darts!

In 2011 Metroline gained a new premises in York Road, Kings Cross.

Therefore the allocation at the previous site, was moved to this area. Thus meaning the new site was renamed KC and not the previous KX.

In Spring 2012, these buses were sent off for refurbishment prior to their work on Olympic shuttles and remained at CELF until they were needed on Shuttle services.

A few 09 reg DE's from Brentford (AH) were transferred over to replace these buses whilst refurbished.
