Metroline's long waited, regained route: route 24!

If you read George's post on Thursday, you would have read that Metroline has regained the contract for route 24 after Go-Ahead London lost to them.

If you want to catch up on route 24 and the history, click here the link below:

Now, the route will be operated with a mix of:

  • 24: H39/23D Volvo B9TL / Wrightbus Gemini 2 double deckers (VW's) with a weight of UW 11910kgs
  • 5: H39/21D Volvo B5L / Wrightbus Gemini 2 hybrid double deckers (VWH's) with a weight of UW 11911kgs
all operated at Holloway Garage (HT).

12reg VW's for use of routes 43 and 134 may also appear on the route as demonstrated in some of the pictures below as they are all operated from the same garage as well as visa versa.

Most of the buses have been delivered, but two of the buses have not yet arrived and 2 12reg VW's will be used in their temporarily used while all of the buses are delivered along with the odd workings!

  2. Nice Post! Getting bit bored of the same old types of buses these companies keep picking can't wait to see what these Optare metrocity buses look like. Also excited about CTPlus' E200 because they'd normally go for Optare.

  3. Hi, when you've (the blog team) got time, can you please make a post about bus blinds because I really like them.

Today in Lewisham, I saw the bus blinds for Catford Garage as an E400 was on use on route 621.

    The blinds showed routes in this order: 47, 61, 99, 136, 199, 208, 246, 269, 636, 637, 638, 664, 621 :)
