Route 380 was previously the
only Stagecoach London Route in London to be allocated 8.9m Plaxton Pointer
Single Deckers also known as MPDs. Quite a few are still in service, but they are set to be withdrawn quite soon apart from 1 which will be kept as a spare for Route 273.
The original batch of 11;
34366-34376 began service on the 380 at Plumstead Garage in 2003 when the PVR
of the 380 was 10, but of course they were intermixed with all the other fleet
from the 386!
In November 2006 the
allocation of Route 380 was transferred to Catford Garage along with the 11
MPDs and have been at Catford Garage until this date there are now 5 out of 11
in service. 34367-34369 were all disposed early due to incidents. 34368 was
disposed because of a fire two years ago and 34367, 34369 were disposed quite
recently and now 34371, 34373, 34375 have been disposed and replaced with 10.2m Darts. This does not mean the 380 is short of buses though!
In 2011 when Route 276 was
awarded to Go Ahead London the 5 Hybrid Tempos were moved to the 380 at Catford
Garage allowing some of the buses to be released from the allocation, but none
of the MPDs left it was in fact the a few of 124s ALX200s. The hybrids mentioned
above are hardly ever in service! Also at the time the 380 PVR was increased to
12 which makes sense!
In September 2012 Route 314
received brand new Enviro 200s replacing the 10.2m Plaxton Pointers, a number
of them have moved to Catford Garage to replace the MPDs, but some of the MPDs are
still currently in service as they are to be used as refurb floats for the
273's E200s.

The Surplus Darts from Route 314 have now found a new home which is Catford Garage, one thing you may not realize is this Garage is now home to 32 out of 33 10.2m Plaxton Darts in all of Stagecoach London! The only missing bus is 34362 which is currently a spare at Bromley Garage. There was another from the 314 batch 34354, but this bus has been disposed due to an incident, before these buses were transferred to Catford Garage existing fleet from Routes 178 and P4 was also used on the 380 as well as the allocated MPDs/Tempos.
The TL Fleet is 34353, 34355-34361-34363-34365, 34387-34397, 34551-34560.
