Unallocated Workings - January & February 2013
A number of viewers have requested that we have more 'Odd Working' sections.
So, over the past 2 months, I've trekked out to find some 'un-allocated workings'- the reason I say 'un-allocated', is that some of these happens more regularly than others.
So without further ado, enjoy the rest of the collection!
Route 112:
- Just 3 days ago, two Enviro200's (8791 - YX12 GHF & 8792 - YX12 GHG) started appearing on the 112 and the U7. These buses are part of the 6 batch ordered for route 490 after it was successfully retained with 'New and Existing Vehicles'. The buses have transferred from Fulwell (TF) to Hayes (WS). The reason for the transfer is unknown, but they'll be 'temporarily allocated' to the 112 and the U7.
- Route 350 has recently just become double deck, which led to the transfer of the Tridents to Abellio's Hayes Garage (WS). Only recently have these buses started to appear on the route (post coming soon!). Here's two tridents on the route!
- The final odd working on route 112 is this: a Plaxton Pointer 2 - this is normally found on the U9, but a few weeks ago, made it's first appearance on the route. These are nice buses, and very nice to ride - they suit the 112 brilliantly!
Route 266:
- Back when it was snowing in January, VN37996 (BF62 UYK) appeared on the 266 for a week - seeming that Atlas Road (AS) help out with Westbourne Park (X)'s routes, it's common for buses to be exchanged and used between the garages as shown below! This also happened back in October with VN37993 appearing on the route - Click Here
Route 328:
- Keeping with the 'Atlas Road and Westbourne Park mix', VN37988 also appeared on route 328 just one week before the route 266 appearance occurred Route 328 is currently allocated a mix of buses: WN's, WNH's and VNW's, with VNZ's often appearing, so it's nice to see a VN complete the mix!
- Atlas Road also has it's own 61reg VN's - for route 266. The contract was won by First from Metroline, and from May, have been operating it with these VN's. The photo below illustrates one of these 61regs on the 328 on a 'Chilly' Sunday Morning in January at Golders Green.
Route 221:
- As mentioned in the 'Best Odd-Working Posts - Click Here', route 144 is allocated the T's, which normally stray on the 29, also make appearances on the 221. Below are shots of T's on the route over the past few months - around North Finchley. New buses are arriving at Wood Green (WN), so these may also stray on the 221!
Route 245:
- Route 245 is operated by First by Alperton Garage. In June, route 224 was retained with brand new Enviro200's - on the second day of being delivered, DML44214 entered service on the route, and since they haven't stopped! Here's two of these new buses on route 245 taken this year!
Route E1: Sticking with First, route E1 operates between Greenford Broadway and Ealing Broadway. It operates from Greenford Garage (G) - the same garage as route 92, which is allocated new Enviro400's after it's contract was retained last year. These 12/62 buses regularly appear on routes E1/E3.
Route 210: Mentioned in the 'Odd Working Post' too, route 210 is allocated TE's (E400's), but once-in-a-while, hybrid's appear! The route may receive a 'part-time hybrid allocation', but no ones sure! This hybrid was spotted in early January, at Golders Green Station.
Route 134:
- As mentioned in another 'Odd Working Post', route 24 was won by Metroline late last year and is currently operated by VW's and VWH's. These 62reg VW's appear almost daily on the route, but the VWH's is a different story. They've appeared multiple times, but not so regularly. Route 24 was announced to be run by the hybrid New Buses for London, so the 134 and may have a change of gaining these VWH's as the route also operates in Central London - as well as the 4, 43, 134 and 390.
Route 390:
- Keeping with HT, they operate route 390 - which operates between Notting Hill Gate and Archway. They are allocated VPL's, but the little 'VW' may happen to appear on the route. The route is already in a 'need of an upgrade', so the VW once in a while is nice to spot!
Route 183:
- Edgware (BT) operates routes 292 and 605 with VLP's, with route 183 allocated SP's. These VLP's have started appearing on route 183 recently, with VLP26 and VLP27 appearing on the route on the same day - shown below!
Route 79:
- You may remember Metroline won route 79 from First with brand new VW's - from PA - the same route as 297 which share their buses. PA have a batch of SEL's for multiple routes, which just happen to sometimes 'appear' on the route! These aren't that rare, but at the same time, not that common!
Route 332:
- Route 332 is operated by Metroline's main garage and head office: Cricklewood. The garage has a mix of buses, which include these TA's - allocated to routes 32 and 210. Seeming that route 332 enters Central London, it is imaginable for the 'new buses' to operate in 'central' places, so it's rare for a 05reg TA to appear on the route. Here's a pic below!
Route E7:
- First London's Greenford Garage (G), runs route E7, operating between Ealing Broadway and Ruislip. The route is allocated 09reg DML's, but regularly, 11reg's from the 95 batch appear on the route too! Here's a night pic of one of those 11reg's!

I like these odd-workings post. Isn't the 183/ VLP an OLD working? Also, I caught BF62 UYK during it's time at AS on 266, I think on the same day I made my blog, but earlier. The DN thing on E3 is very COMMON, with about a bus appearing daily. Today (25/02) SN12 EHK was working the route whilst SN09 CEA was on 92 in return.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! I think you should've included your pic of SN36055 on 427, but I'm not sure whether that's unallocated or not.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up!
