Route 112: A mixed allocation!

Because this route was requested to be covered by you guys, we decided to keep you updated.

Route 112 has only recently become a major receiver of non-allocated workings.

I'm not saying it's something to get worked up about, but it's nice to keep people informed.

The route runs between Ealing Broadway & Brent Cross and is a vital and is an 'occasionally' fast way for shoppers to travel between these areas via the A406 (North Circular).

The reason why I say 'occasionally' is because the route can be serverly disrupted in the peaks or if there is traffic on the A406 causing major delays.

Currently the route is allocated a batch of 7 10.2m Darts with Caetano Nimbus bodywork.

Although prior to the 22nd of January, the most you would find on the route were these Darts and the occasional H28 pointer or one of the two spare 51 reg Dart Pointers.

From the 22nd, Tridents from the 350 allocation started appearing from no-where! The problem was, the vehicles were appearing on weekdays, rather than weekends, where it was very difficult to snap as they arrive at Brent Cross just before you are physically able to get there!

After waiting for a convenient time, we were able to snap and catch the buses!

Depending on the bus you have, you can hit some good speeds.

I say this because I caught 9769 on the route and it literally flew down the road but yesterday whilst on 9772, we barley even hit 30mph - not typical of an up-rated Euro3 Trident!

Demonstrating these working is 9772, whilst serving the route in Ealing.

Formerly these aforementioned tridents worked at Abellio's Bedington Cross garage in Surrey.

These tridents were mainly found on routes 3 & 157.

It was only until the spring of 2012; once the 3 had been converted to E40H operation at QB, that 9 of the tridents in the batch, were able to re-locate to Hayes (WS). This is also where route 350 was able to be converted to a double deck operation.

  1. Beddington has 2 D's not 1 D.

  2. These routes do not seem typical. The more urban routes will sometimes not even hit 20 MPH! I always book buses with Charter Bus Rentals because the service has been phenomenal.
