Top 10 Unusual Workings 2013: 2nd Place

2nd Place:
Route 268 2469 YJ06YRR - Golders Green

The 268 is quite a short route operating from Finchley Road to Golders Green serving many back streets along the way. Here we have a mini Optare Solo on the 268 and this is very unusual simply because this bus is 7.8m and cannot carry the same capacity of people like the allocated Cadets which are 10.1m. During the summer a lot of the Cadets allocated to Routes 268, 303 & 305 have been sent off for refurbishment and quite a few times Solos have been out on this route when they really should not be at all due to the size of the the vehicle. Arriva the Shire successfully retained the contract to operate the three routes listed above this year.

That's all for today

1st Place out tomorrow

  1. That is really rare and I only got a bad picture of it on my blog. Many people have said this is extremely common.

    1. They aren't properly blinded. You know that the Solos are only blinded for H1, H2, H3, 631 and some have 268. Others that have 268 have a piece of paper sellotaped to the blinds! So any appearance on 288, 203, 305, H18 and H19 have no blinds for Solos.....
