The Borismster Muddle Up: Part 2

Route 10 was recently converted to Borismaster operation on the 26th April 2014, followed by route 38 on the 10th May 2014. I have decided to merge the post about the two routes together. As most of the details you may need to know are in the first post, which can be seen here, so this post will be kept rather short and snappy as their isn't much to show.

On the first route, route 10 - The conversion took place before midnight on the 25th April 2014. The first bus was LT87, shortly followed by LT81 - Indeed, these buses are actually from route 9's batch, also stabilized at Stamford Brook (V).
As I was busy, I was not able to cover this until last week, so I will now show you the observations made. Unlike Metroline, who mix both batches of Borismasters on both route 24 and 390, London United seem more organised and keep the batches separate, although there is the uncommon straying.

Just for the record, next time a service change happens on Oxford Street - I'm avoiding it. As easy as it is to reach there, it full of so many people who like to ruin your shots, and can see you're doing photography and purposely walk in front of you. Also, the lighting is bad too, however those were with other buses (Mainly on route 390) that I photographed.

So above is LT152 seen at Great Titchfield Street (Photographer's Gallery) just east of Oxford Circus Station. It seems to be picking up a hefty load of passengers before setting off on a route 10 journey towards Hammersmith. Note, like the 148, this bus and it's sisters were delivered without advert frames, however I'd presume they'd be applied on in the near future.

Another shot at the same place, same day. LT170 is seen making an approach at Great Titchfield Street. Some buses were applied with Year of the Bus stickers, however LT170 wasn't one of them.

I happened to see TWO Borismasters that were allocated to route 9 on route 10 luckily, so I used the oppurtunity to photograph them. I decided to include the better photo here - displayed below is LT70 standing outside Oxford Circus station, on Oxford Circus itself performing a service to Hammersmith. The crowds on the pavement may explain why a lot of my photos were ruined. Note the extremely friendly driver in the bus.

Then we have route 38, which is already part Borismater operation. Buses run between Clapton Pond and Victoria, although only has conductors between Hackney Central and Victoria. Buses towards Clapton Pond have their conductors alight at Hackney Central station where Clapton (CT) is located.

The conversion is to be phased over the month, so we do have another '11' in a way, although this conversion at the time of writing seems to be many times smoother than of Go-Ahead's route 11, whose driver's seem to have a disliking to the vehicles. I have included photos of the prototypes which will still run the route, except LT8 and are practically the same as their production counterparts. Above is LT2 (LT61BHT, now LTZ1002) which is seen nearing journey's end in Victoria. This bus, along with LT1 and LT3 are currently on tour around the world - If anyone has seen Lawrence's photostream, you may have seen that he snapped LT2 in Poland whilst on exhibition - and have since haven't seen service. LT1 made it to New York, too and was last seen in 2012, skipping an entire year and a half of public service.
Below is sister bus LT3 on Wilson Street running to Hackney Central. At time of photographing, when only the prototypes were on the 38, buses only ran between Victoria and Clapton Pond at a frequency of every 20 minutes until about 9pm. Now buses run all day, every day and to Clapton Pond (Lea Bridge Roundabout) now.

Although a short post, it was reported that LT175 been involved in an accident on the first day on route 10 near Kensington High Street, however is in service once again. LT230 has been painted in a pink livery and LT189 is in a chrome livery similar to LT150. With many thanks to EHBusman1958 for supplying the photos of LT2 and LT3.
